About Freshmans Ltd
A Ugandan investment club, incorporated in 1995, mobilising resources for its members with integrity, discipline and Agali Awamu.
Our Vision
Freshmans' vision is to be an association of individuals of impeccable character and integrity, having high-valued social, cultural and ethical norms that enable them, as members, to mobilise resources so as to enhance and maximise their financial status.
Our Mission
To mobilise resources as a group worldwide, to implement prudent investment decisions, and to foster a robust network for social and cultural activities in an ethical manner.

From a Tuesday social club to a registered investment company.
Freshmans was initially formed by friends who met for social activities every Tuesday evening. Those gatherings grew into members' weekly savings, and eventually into the shares of the company today. Freshmans Limited was set up in August 1995 and incorporated on 20th November of the same year. The company continues to run programmes that uphold the social and cultural values of members and their families — including contributions to the Buganda Kingdom, participation in Royal events such as His Majesty the Kabaka's birthday celebrations and coronation anniversaries, and the Kingdom's self-help project, Ettoffaali.

Real estate, disciplined by prudence.
Investment in real estate and real property development has proved to be the most ideal focus for Freshmans in both the short and medium term, based on national and sectoral performance indicators and nearly three decades of experience in the sector. As we look further ahead, we are deliberately strengthening how we handle land tenure, infrastructural development, value addition, consortium partnerships and joint ventures, financing arrangements, and acquisitions and stockholding — the modifications required to keep our returns sound over the long run.
See Our InvestmentsGovernance that keeps members in control.
All members are involved in governance through the Annual General Meeting, which elects the Board of Directors to oversee operations through an Executive Committee.
Annual General Meeting
Every member has a voice. The AGM elects the Board and sets the mandate for growth.
Board of Directors
Provides oversight of company operations and approves strategy for execution.
Executive Committee
Chairman, Executive Director Operations, Executive Director Finance and the Company Secretary, supported by an Accountant and Office Administrator.
What we're strengthening for the long term.
As an investment club, a few deliberate modifications keep our long-term outlook sound:
Land Tenure System
Ensuring every parcel we hold is properly secured, surveyed and documented.
Infrastructural Development
Investing in the roads, services and planning that unlock land value.
Value Addition
Moving from raw land holding towards planned, serviced estates.
Consortium & Joint Ventures
Partnering deliberately to widen scale and share risk.
Financing Arrangements
Diversifying how we fund acquisitions beyond member capital alone.
Acquisitions & Stockholding
Managing inventory turnover so capital doesn't sit idle.
Governance, integrity, and Agali Awamu.
Every decision we make is measured against the same standard our founders set in 1995.
