Our Investments
Disciplined capital allocation across land, member lending and money markets — reviewed regularly by our Board and Investment Committee.
Real estate, held with patience and discipline.
Investment in real estate and real property development has proved to be the most ideal industry for Freshmans to concentrate its efforts, in both the short and medium term. This decision is drawn from national and sectoral performance indicators, and from nearly three decades of experience navigating local market dynamics. Our returns have been sound; sustaining them for the long run means paying close attention to land tenure, infrastructure, value addition, partnerships, financing and stockholding.
Three ways we put capital to work.
Land Investments
Buying, holding and selling land is our core activity. We affirm the importance of market timing — entering on the lows and selling on the highs — supported by adequate working capital and technical analysis from our Investment Committee. Our current holdings sit mainly in Kampala and Wakiso.
Loans To Members
As an alternative line of business, we extend unsecured, short-term loans to members at subsidised interest rates, guaranteed by their shareholding. This offers a low-risk avenue while maintaining member commitment and participation.
Money Market Investments
We also invest excess cash in other short-term money market instruments, generating additional income while keeping our portfolio liquid and diversified.
Target Portfolio Mix
Four pillars behind every decision.
Raise Capital
Additional share capital of up to UGX 4.5 billion by 2027.
Reorganisation

Member Engagement

Returns
Return on investment of at least 20% per annum by 2027.
A partner-minded approach to every acquisition.
We conduct due diligence, monitor our land assets and stress-test our portfolio quarterly so member capital stays protected.
